In many nations, especially southern and eastern Europe and South America, Christian religions celebrate Epiphany as the main gift-giving holiday. In the Catholic faith, Epiphany, which lands on January 6 is also called the Feast of the Three Kings (or Magi). It's a Catholic feast day of the Church. It's not a holy day of obligation, but it is an important day in the Octave of Christmas (Christmastide). On this day, we celebrate the visit of the wiseman to the Christ child in Bethlehem.
